Description
  • Conduct thorough evaluations of patients spanning pediatric to geriatric demographics, utilizing both standardized assessments and nuanced observational methods.
  • Create customized treatment plans aimed at meeting immediate therapeutic goals while addressing the overarching communication and swallowing needs of each individual.
  • Deliver tailored speech therapy sessions that focus on enhancing communication, fluency, voice, and swallowing abilities.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, families, and caregivers to develop comprehensive care strategies.
  • Engage with patients and their families by providing educational resources to encourage progress outside of clinical appointments.
  • Participate in occasional inpatient assessments and interventions, ensuring continuity of care throughout the recovery process.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with state, federal, and institution-specific regulations.
  • Stay at the forefront of your field by engaging in continuing education and collaborative learnings with peers.
Education
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not already ASHA-certified.
Certifications
  • Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 days of hire.
Skills
  • Deep knowledge of evidence-based practices applicable to all ages, with keen insight into both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Outstanding interpersonal communication skills to effectively engage with patients, families, and care teams.
  • Adaptation of therapeutic techniques to cater to multicultural and multifaceted linguistic backgrounds.
  • Strong clinical judgment complemented by solid problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in managing electronic medical records and adhering to documentation standards.
