SUMMARY & SCOPE OF POSITION:
The Staff Accountant will prepare and analyze a company's financial records. The Staff Accountant will compile financial statements, review data, and ensure financial compliance. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for executing a variety of financial procedures, including month-end and year-end closings, accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, general ledger entries, forecasting, and budgeting. The Staff Accountants will also analyze corporate financial operations to ensure the business is running efficiently.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Review financial statements for accuracy and legal compliance
• Enter accounting-related information into business logs
• Inspect account books for efficiency and accuracy
• Organize and update financial records
• Recommend ways to reduce costs and enhance revenue
• Perform monthly bank settlements
• Prepare documentation for external auditors
• Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred
• At least two years' experience in accounting or a related field
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Experience with Sage Intacct preferred
• Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to read and analyze financial reports
• Must be able to pass a background check
• Must adhere to Tribal drug and alcohol policy
• Keep regular hours of operations as prescribed by Tribal Administrator and Tribal Council
• Must have a valid Driver's License

Specific vision abilities required by this job include reading, distance, computer, and color vision. Talking and hearing are essential to communicate with vendors and staff. The employee must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
MENTAL DEMANDS:
There are several deadlines associated with this position. The employee must also multi-task and interact with a wide variety of people on various and, at times, complicated issues.
