Main Responsibilities

  • Lead the competitive intelligence gathering and analysis for Databricks, with additional focus on Google BigQuery and IBM watsonx, producing actionable insights for business decisions.

  • Employ GenAI tools, such as Claude, Copilot, Gemini, and Crayon, to streamline research workflows, enhance coverage capacity, and ensure consistent analytical outputs.
  • Create and regularly update structured prompt libraries for efficient CI research and content development workflows.
  • Track competitor actions and market signals using automated AI monitoring tools, prioritizing source verification and factual accuracy in all deliverables.
  • Develop and keep competitive battlecards, in-depth analyses, and sales enablement materials to improve competitive win rates.
  • Work with marketing to formulate distinct positioning and messaging strategies.
  • Offer real-time competitive sales support for significant go-to-market opportunities.
  • Design and present competitive training and enablement programs for global sales teams.
  • Maintain and enhance the competitive intelligence knowledge base.
  • Present insights and recommendations to executive leadership.

Collaboration

You'll collaborate with product management to influence roadmap decisions based on competitive analyses, focusing on agentic AI architectures and vector datastore dynamics.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Business, Marketing, Technology, etc.).
  • At least 5 years of experience in competitive intelligence, market research, product marketing, or related analysis.
  • Deep understanding of the modern data and AI landscape, including analytical platforms and machine learning infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of vector datastores and open table formats (Iceberg, Delta, Hudi) as core subjects.
  • Experience with GenAI tools for research and productivity, including large language models and prompt engineering.
  • Familiarity with the enterprise software sales cycle and its competitive dynamics.
  • A strong track record of supporting sales teams in competitive scenarios.
  • Understanding of cloud environments, including public, hybrid, and on-premises options.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present effectively to executive audiences.
  • Strategic thinking with prioritization skills across a varied vendor coverage portfolio.
  • Project management proficiency for managing multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Research skills utilizing both qualitative and quantitative methods, along with AI-enhanced research techniques.
  • Practical experience with GenAI tools, including large language models and agentic monitoring platforms.
