Job Description:
  • Provide clinical knowledge and support to physicians and clinical staff in order to provide ongoing support for Computerized Electronic Record (Cerner) on all Aultman campuses.
  • Possesses core knowledge of all Cerner applications to support and assist end users.
  • Continually promotes patient safety to the highest level through application of the Computerized Electronic Medical Record.
  • Participates in the assessment, documentation, and workflow evaluation, collaborating in projects & with Clinical teams to optimize of clinical systems.
  • Provides continual and new educational information regarding clinical systems functionality and resulting optimization processes to system end users.
  • Works collaboratively with users of clinical information systems, functioning as key clinical liaison between both clinical and non-clinical areas and as well as with all departments within the Information Systems Division.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Answer "33DOC" support line, troubleshoot issues, escalate as necessary, and provide feedback on resolution.
  • Monitor Cerner Help Desk as assigned and works to promptly resolve and or escalate tickets, providing feedback to customers within Department designated timeframe.
  • Maintains visible presence on clinical units and ongoing contact by daily ongoing rounding
  • Involvement in development of all types of education & participates in the development of education plans and training materials.
  • Assist and support go live implementation of projects, applications and upgrades.
  • Provide ongoing education, training for clinical information system applications and workflow process changes.
  • Summarize observations, issues, new processes and assists with development of options, recommendations & plans to improve end-user workflow process.
  • Assist with optimization projects as assigned.
  • Collaboration, problem solving and trouble shooting for clinical system.
  • Documents, measures, collects data related to clinical processes and performance improvement through audit activities.
  • Assists with writing of policy & procedures for clinical process and workflow.
  • Facilitates effective communication with the clinical staff, providers and information technology.
  • Participates in system testing as needed.
  • Assists with assessment & analysis of the workflow process on the units for optimization.
  • Communicates as instructed to end-users on units and on all Aultman campuses.
  • Assists with Meeting agendas & planning for meetings, minutes.
  • Participates in research, training and education as requested.
  • Participate in new projects as assigned.
  • Maintains an up-to-date knowledge of current trends and issues in health care, nursing practice, healthcare informatics, national and state trends and standards 2.20.2017, including legal implications of and electronic record and optimization.
  • Participates in presentations and publications regarding clinical informatics attending conferences and training as directed.
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with team in addition to Nursing and Technical communities
Qualifications:

Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years experience at Aultman Hospital
  • Knowledge of current practice and workflow
  • Comfortable working with all end users and Physicians
Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree and/or Master's Degree preferred in Nursing or other Clinical Area
  • Must be licensed in the State of Ohio
  • Must demonstrate thorough knowledge of Clinical practices and principles
  • Must have current up-to-date CPR training
Technical:
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook
  • Knowledge and current usage of the Cerner Documentation System

  • Primarily day shift & afternoon shift, with additional off shift as needed for implementation and coverage
