Tax Accountant (Temp-hire) Key Responsibilities Prepare tax filings across federal, state, local, and international jurisdictions, including income tax returns, sales and use filings, property and fuel tax reports, environmental fee submissions, gross margin reports, and both annual and amended returns. Support statutory and regulatory reporting requirements across multiple tax types. Collaborate with external tax advisors and internal stakeholders to manage the preparation, review, submission, and payment of tax returns. Oversee the administrative workflow for tax filings, including payment requests, signature routing, e?filing tracking, mailing logistics, certifications, and maintenance of compliance documentation. Research and resolve tax notices through written responses, discussions with tax agencies, coordination with advisors, and processing of any required payments. Prepare, reconcile, and track all tax?related payments, refunds, and adjustments across various jurisdictions. Maintain accurate records to support audits, reporting, and internal controls. Assist with accounts payable and general ledger activities related to tax reporting, information returns, reconciliations, and tax provision systems. Support SOX?related requirements for the tax function, including documentation of tax positions, coordination of tax and finance meetings, and verification of control signoffs. Assist with global compliance initiatives, including data collection for country?by?country reporting, audit support, and responses to international information requests. Contribute to process improvements that support audits, acquisitions, credit claims, legal filings, and research projects.
