Job Responsibilities
The Central Pantry Coordinator manages the daily operations of the college's primary campus food pantry. This position ensures students have reliable access to food and basic needs resources through effective inventory management, volunteer coordination, and high-quality customer service. The coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for students accessing pantry services at the central campus and ensures compliance with health and safety standards.
Pantry Operations & Customer Service:
Manage daily operations of the central campus pantry.
Maintain accurate inventory records, conduct regular stock checks, and make requests for needed items to the supervisor.
Ensure proper food storage, organization, and cleanliness.
Provide direct, student-centered support to pantry users, including:
Greet students and staff, assisting with item selection based on individual needs.
Answering questions about pantry use and availability.
Monitor usage trends to anticipate demand and restocking needs.
Volunteer & Student Support:
Assist in recruiting, training, and supervising volunteers assigned to the central pantry.
Schedule shifts and ensure adequate pantry coverage.
Provide ongoing guidance and ensure volunteers follow pantry procedures and customer service expectations.
Compliance, Safety & Documentation:
Ensure compliance with food safety, storage, and handling regulations.
Conduct regular safety and cleanliness checks.
Maintain required records related to inventory, usage, and volunteers.
Assist with reporting data related to pantry usage and operations.
Collaboration & Meetings:
Coordinate with the multicampus Pantry & Outreach Coordinator to share data, needs, and best practices.
Participate in departmental and college-wide meetings as needed.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a customer service or administrative role is preferred.
Associate's Degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
