Job Description
  • The AVTO Training & Audit Lead helps test, improve, and oversee the quality of our autonomous vehicles and AV Test Operators.
  • This individual works together with Client AVTO Training and Quality Team and Phoenix AV Operations Team to identify and solve operations and training needs.
  • This role is responsible for ensuring that training programs and audits for Phoenix AVTOs are scheduled and run smoothly and provides task-related feedback as needed to improve AVTO performance.
  • Foster Clients Safety-First culture.
  • Responsible for auditing and maintaining the safety standards of the AVTOs.
  • Align fleet operations standards with classroom training standards established by Training Coordinators.
  • Analyze performance results and create supplemental training to ensure a high standard of performance across the fleet.
  • Identify safety concerns and execute against performance standards to improve overall fleet quality.
  • Provide feedback for AVTOs regarding tasks, operations, and safety functions.
  • Identify and communicate performance trends that impact overall fleet quality.
  • Assist Training Coordinators and Operations Coordinators and Managers with day-to-day operations in the office, garage, and field.
  • Perform ad hoc projects as needed, including those in support of delivery and other community support and/or pilots.

  • Successfully complete a background check, drug screen and DMV Motor Vehicle Record check
  • Perform detailed audits primarily by viewing audit recordings and screening AVTO notes for up to eight hours/day.
  • Occasionally drive and/or ride as notetaker in the AV to stay up to date on current standards, perform in-person audits, and/or provide AVTO retraining.
  • Accurately type and read on a laptop in a moving vehicle.
  • Ability to give and receive clear, prompt, and understandable verbal and written communications
  • Tolerate occasional abrupt starts, stops, turns, and maneuvers associated with driving or taking control of the AV in both training and daily job functions.
  • Perform physical work including, but not limited to, stooping, and lifting.
  • Ability to remain alert and extremely focused for two-hour uninterrupted blocks of time.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Safely operate the AV in accordance with Client safety protocols and applicable law. This includes, but is not limited to, having a sufficient range of motion to frequently turn a steering wheel, operate the accelerator and brake, check blind spots, and evaluate the environment, and maintaining appropriate air bag clearance.
  • Computer literacy required, with an emphasis on laptop usage.
  • Licensed to drive a motor vehicle in the U.S. for the three years immediately preceding your application, currently holding an active Arizona Operator License Class D or equivalent, and no more than one point on driving record.
  • Expectations in c shortcuts and c as navigating through multiple accounts and windows quickly, using common keyboard shortcuts, and using various software programs to include instant messaging.
  • Must type a minimum of 20 wpm.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, including interacting with the public.
