RK&K is seeking a Transportation Project Delivery Manager to play a crucial role in supporting our current clients while also driving the growth of new client relationships across our firm. As a prominent member of our development team, you will lead a variety of exciting transportation projects, ensuring we deliver top-notch planning and engineering services. Join our dynamic team and take charge of a wide array of tasks, including analyzing alternative solutions, overseeing skilled staff, and leading projects in highway planning and design. A strong understanding of AASHTO and local design criteria is essential, along with the ability to coordinate effectively with clients, consultants, government agencies, and project teams.
This position offers flexibility with remote work options, alongside necessary travel to project sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead transportation planning and design projects within a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
- Mentor junior engineers and technicians on planning and design tasks.
- Apply Highway Design Standards and other relevant guidelines to ensure compliance in transportation projects.
- Create comprehensive construction documents, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Demonstrate exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and thrive in a team setting.
- Act as Project/Program and Contractual Manager for various transportation initiatives.
- Facilitate meetings, presentations, and client approvals for project plans.
- Direct project staff and manage sub-consultants effectively.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between clients and the firm.
- Engage in Business Development and Marketing efforts to secure new clients and workloads.
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- 15+ years of civil engineering design experience with a specialization in transportation/highway engineering.
- Professional Engineering Registration (PE), or the ability to secure it within six months.
- Proficiency in Microstation, Geopak, InRoads, Open Roads, AutoCAD, or Civil 3D, along with strong skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Experience working on federal, state, and local government projects.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience with alternative project delivery methods.
- Familiarity with projects in multiple states.
