Position Title: Construction Truck Driver (MR / HR / HC)

Location: Canberra, ACT Employment Type: Casual / Full-time Hours Available

Position Overview

We are seeking experienced and safety-focused Truck Drivers (MR, HR, and HC) to work across construction and civil sites in the Canberra region. This role involves the safe operation of heavy vehicles for the transport of materials, equipment, and machinery while maintaining compliance with WHS legislation, site rules, and company procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate MR, HR, or HC vehicles on construction and civil worksites

• Transport materials such as soil, aggregates, equipment, and construction supplies

• Load and unload materials in accordance with site procedures and load-restraint requirements

• Complete daily pre-start vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks

• Comply with site traffic management plans and directions from site supervisors and spotters

• Maintain accurate delivery documentation and timesheets

• Identify and report hazards, defects, incidents, or near misses

• Assist with general labouring duties when required

• Ensure all work complies with WHS legislation, environmental requirements, and site policies

Licences & Tickets (Essential)

• Valid MR, HR, or HC Driver's Licence (appropriate to role)

• White Card (General Construction Induction)

• Silica Awareness Training

• Asbestos Awareness Training

Licences & Tickets (Highly Regarded)

• Construction Induction for ACT/NSW sites

• Load Restraint training

• Traffic Control tickets

• Plant tickets (e.g. loader, excavator, skid steer)

• HRW licences (e.g. dogging, rigging)

Skills & Experience

• Demonstrated experience driving heavy vehicles in construction or civil environments

• Strong understanding of load restraint, fatigue management, and chain of responsibility

• Ability to safely navigate active worksites and follow traffic management plans

• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team

• Physically fit and capable of working in outdoor conditions
