Performs diagnostic echocardiography imaging exams on patients to obtain quality exam/procedures as ordered by Licensed Independent Practitioner(s). Clearly explains exam/procedure and assures physical and psychosocial safety of all patients. Reviews images/exams to ensure appropriate diagnostic quality and that reason for exam/procedure is achieved via diagnosis.
Job Responsibilities:
Perform echocardiograms, or ultrasound imaging, to evaluate different aspects of the heart.
Review patient files and must be familiar with basic cardiac conditions in order to recognize and identify any abnormalities.
Clearly explains ultrasound/cardiac exam/procedures to patients.
Confirm that images meet requirements of Cardiologist.
Presents exam/procedure images to Cardiologist for clinical interpretation
Ensures that inventories are properly managed
Assures that patient information and images are sent to the PACS and EMR systems correctly.
Performs duties as a Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer as required.
Clearly and effectively explains, knows, and informs anyone entering the Cardiac suite about the exam/procedure that is about to be performed.
Reviews each examination for technical accuracy, presents completed examination to cardiologist, and communicates pertinent data to persons responsible for the care of the patient following the procedure.
Identifies anatomical orientation on all required images and ensures proper identification on all images.
Maintains patient Cardiac US HLD "log" documenting correctly and accurately patient information to ensure the quality of patient care.

Demonstrates ability to organize patient care and set priorities by providing critical care first and by implementing the Licensed Independent Practitioner's orders.
Performs proper computer skills and shows working knowledge of patient orders, status changes, patient charges and profiles.
Pay: Up to $41.72 per hour

Completion of an ARDMS accredited program or equivalent in ultrasound technology required.
Certification by American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography vascular (RVT) technologist required.
CPR certification required.
Ability to commute/relocate:
Washington, DC: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
License/Certification:
RVT Technologist Certification (Preferred)
CPR Certification (Required)
