Position Purpose:

The Veterinary Reception Specialist will play a key role in delivering exceptional customer care to our Vetco Total Care hospital clients. As the first and last point of contact, you’ll embody our mission and values while ensuring a welcoming environment for all.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Managing phone calls and routing them appropriately.
  • Scheduling and confirming appointments with clients.
  • Welcoming visitors and ensuring a pleasant check-in experience.
  • Keeping the waiting area clean and stocked with necessary materials.
  • Assisting in training new team members and sharing knowledge.
  • Collaborating with technical staff to support hospital operations.

Other Duties: Perform additional assigned tasks as necessary.

Supervision: You will report directly to the Hospital Office Manager and Hospital Leader on Duty.

Planning and Problem Solving: You will ensure efficient hospital operations, managing appointment schedules, and communicating with clients during unexpected delays.

Impact: Your work will enhance the overall client experience and contribute to a high standard of care within the hospital.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a veterinary or customer service role.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism during stressful situations.
  • Proficient in telephone communication and computer skills.
  • A collaborative team player eager to learn and adapt.
  • Preferred: Experience with Practice Management Systems.

Work Environment: You will work in a Vetco Total Care full-service veterinary hospital, with physical tasks including bending, lifting (up to 30 pounds), and standing for prolonged periods.
