Job Summary

This position is responsible for supporting veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary medicine, educating
clients, and patient care. The CVT/LVT/RVT also partners to promote and participate in outside hospital
events as needed.

Key Accountabilities

Adhere to OSHA standards and regulations as outlined by WellHaven Pet Heath company policies
Perform technical skills within state practice acts regarding duties of CVTs/LVTs/RVTs
Surgery, dentistry, laboratory, venipuncture, restraint, follow hospital protocols for
maintaining sterile, clean, and organized hospital environment
Maintaining complete and proper medical charting
Obtain medical history and relevant patient information
Client education
Complete all hospital duties prior to end of shift
Maintain hospital equipment
Assist with maintaining hospital supplies
Help with day-to-day hospital flow and efficiency
Take own initiative
Advocate for hospital success
Responsible for some reception duties such as triaging phone calls, making appointments, intake and discharging patients
Perform other job duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

CVT, RVT, or LVT (state specific)
Graduated from an accredited veterinary technician program
Successfully completed the VTNE
Prior experience and competent skills in anesthesia, surgery, and dentistry including dental x-ray
Proficient computer skills
Excellent communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

1-2+ years veterinary hospital experience
Outgoing, driven, compassionate individual willing and able to adapt to learn new things and continue
to develop their skill set
All work is to be done on-site or at an approved outside hospital/event location and not at home.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift minimum of 25 lbs.
Must be able to adapt to work environment, includes but not limited to pace, pet waste and noise
Must be able to work up to 11-hour shifts, Saturdays, some holidays and evenings
Able to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb
Employee is routinely exposed to a variety of patients that may bite or scratch, and on occasion,
exposed to anesthesia, radiation, biological hazards and medication/controlled substances.
