About the Role
We are looking for a dynamic Vice President of Predictive Modeling to spearhead a talented team of statisticians and drive the development and maintenance of cutting-edge predictive models across various business functions, including originations, marketing, and collections. As a key thought leader, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with multiple departments to uncover and leverage opportunities for predictive modeling. This hands-on role involves building, coding, and implementing models using Python and SQL while managing ongoing maintenance and monitoring efforts. You will interact daily with senior leadership, oversee impactful model presentations, and play a pivotal role in expanding our modeling expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of statisticians to develop and sustain high-quality predictive models.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement modeling opportunities.
- Utilize your expertise in advanced statistical techniques to enhance business functions.
- Engage with senior leadership to present model findings and insights.
- Manage and mentor modeling team members, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess an M.S. or higher in statistics, math, data science, or a related quantitative field, along with a minimum of 10 years of predictive modeling experience in the financial services domain. A strong background in building predictive models using techniques such as linear and logistic regression, decision trees, random forest, and gradient boosting is essential. This role requires at least 5 years of management experience, advanced proficiency in SQL, and a detailed understanding of credit bureau data. Proficiency in R, Python, or SAS for model development, with experience using Experian credit reports, is highly preferred.
