Job Summary:
The Warehouse Associate plays a crucial role in assisting with outbound activities as requested by the Warehouse Supervisor, ensuring that quality, safety, productivity, and operational standards are met. Inbound positions involve receiving products into the facility, while outbound positions focus on shipping products to our customers.
Responsibilities:
Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to effectively process orders, including accurate picking, performing quality control, sorting, consolidating freight, building and wrapping pallets, packing, loading, and preparing orders for shipment.
Utilize material handling equipment to pick large case items or small unit measure items, placing them on designated carts.
Cross-train in various areas of the warehouse and actively participate in projects as needed.
Utilize Warehouse Management System (WMS) for checking in and sending out products.
Drive material handling equipment according to job duties, which may include order pickers, forklifts, reach trucks, turret trucks, pallet jacks, and walkie riders.
Maintain cleanliness and safety in the work environment while completing housekeeping and inventory control tasks.
Work on routine assignments that require effective problem resolution.
Participate in associate meetings and communicate any concerns to management.
Adhere to OSHA standards and all organizational policies, rules, and regulations during job performance.
Qualifications:
Frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds.
Ability to bend, reach, stoop, lift, and stand for the entire shift.
Comfortable working at heights of 20-30 feet regularly.
High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred.
Prior experience with material handling equipment (PIT) is preferred.
Experience with radio frequency (RF) scanners and/or voice to pick systems is highly preferred.
Availability to work overtime with little to no notice.
Strong ability to follow directions and adjust priorities while working independently or as part of a team.
Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced warehouse environment while meeting performance standards.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Willingness to learn the operation of material handling equipment and rotate into different areas of the warehouse.
Adhere to site safety regulations, including wearing the required personal protective equipment such as steel-toed safety shoes and harnesses.
