Western Slope Community Manager - August 2023
Position Summary:
Second Wind Fund (SWF) is a 501(c)(3) Colorado-based nonprofit organization whose mission is to reduce the incidence of suicide in children and youth by removing the financial and social barriers to treatment. SWF services are provided in 42 counties across Colorado. Since 2002, SWF has provided life-saving services to over 8,000 Colorado youth.
SWF is seeking a full-time position - 40 hours per week. This position will be based in the Western Slope region, with the ability to work remotely. Join a small and growing organization with a life-saving mission!
The primary role of the Western Slope Community Manager (WSCM) is to serve as a community liaison and local representative for Second Wind Fund. The WSCM will be the regional primary lead on communications with program providers, school mental health staff, community mental health agencies, referral sources, and local community groups (Rotary, Kiwanis, Churches, Optimists, etc.). The WSCM will report to the Program Director.
Principal Responsibilities:
Design, manage and implement strategic outreach efforts to regularly attend local community events, committee meetings, summits, conferences, etc. related to suicide prevention and youth mental health.
Strategize, create, and execute plans for Western Slope community outreach to build additional community connections, referral resources and providers.
Organize localized SWF program data for use by staff, board and external audiences.
Attend and engage in monthly internal SWF committee meetings: Program and occasional board meetings.
Manage recruitment of potential new providers (individual therapists, Community Mental Health Centers, and group practices).
Create and execute strategies for building an equity-focused provider/therapist network.
Oversee the provider/therapist onboarding process including qualifications review, initial meetings, and questions.
Manage volunteers and interns in the region with the support of the Program Director.
Responsible for other tasks related to programming and fundraising.
Perform other tasks as assigned by the Program Director and Executive Director.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Human Services or a related field. Master's degree in social work preferred.
At least three years of experience with non-profits, program management, development, mental health, human services, and/or related field.
First-hand knowledge of the Western Slope Region in Colorado.
Knowledge and experience in the mental health field and suicide related issues as well as resources related to mental health services. Position requires small and large presentations on suicide prevention and Second Wind Fund to both public and specialist audiences.
Demonstrated commitment to advancing SWF's Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging efforts.
Able to legally work in the United States of America.
Valid driver's license with insurable motor vehicle record (MVR).
Ability to work remotely in a timely and professional manner.
Microsoft Office Suite software proficiency and knowledge of internet and database applications. Prior experience utilizing Zoho preferred.

This is a full-time, salary (exempt) position. Medical, dental, STD/LTD, and life insurance benefits are offered on the 1st of the month after working 30 days. Matching 401k, up to 3% of salary, 100% vested after 30 days of employment. Flexible schedule with generous paid time off, including 10 paid holidays.
