As the Wound Care Program Leader, you will play a critical role in directing, organizing, and enhancing wound care services to provide exceptional patient care. You will ensure compliance with federal, state, and organizational standards while following the Plan of Care and physician orders related to wound treatments.
This position allows for independent functioning, requiring strong communication skills and personal integrity. You will collaborate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and various healthcare staff, and may also engage with external agencies as necessary.
In addition to overseeing wound care initiatives, you will lead hospital-wide educational efforts, training both patients and their families on effective wound management strategies. While not directly supervising clinical staff, your expertise will guide the clinical team on wound care protocols.
To thrive in this role, you will need to continuously update your knowledge of wound care through seminars and professional organizations. Minimum qualifications include:
- RN credentials required for long-term acute care hospitals.
- One year of wound care experience is essential.
- Current CPR certification.
Your duties will involve:
- Using general office equipment and computers.
- Maintaining good visual acuity and communication skills.
- Participating in patient mobility activities, including lifting and moving objects weighing at least 30 pounds.
Adherence to the company’s Standards of Business Conduct and maintaining current licensure are crucial. Additionally, you should be prepared to:
- Work independently without supervision.
